The Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF).

The ONLF was founded in August 15th 1984 by six people:
  1. Abdirahman Mahdi, the Chairman of the Western Somali Liberation Movement Youth Union.
  2. Mohamed Ismail Omar of the Western Somali Liberation Front (WSLF).
  3. Sheikh Ibrahim Abdalla Mohamed (WSLF).
  4. Abdi Ibrahim Geele (WSLF-Trade Union).
  5. Abdirahman Yusuf Magan (WSLF).
  6. Abdulahi Mohamed Sacdi (Former Somali State president.
During the heyday of the transitional period, ONLF secured the majority of the fist regional council election in 1992. Abdullahi Mohamed Sacdi, one of the founders of ONLF, was appointed by the council as the regional president over the Somali “Region 5”.
